Material used in Doll House

Dolls Houses are mainly made up of 2  types of wood that are MDF and plywood. For many reasons MDF wood is most preferred wood to be used in making dolls houses. MDF wood is much sturdier and stronger to make dolls houses. MDF is the best wood for making doll house for a child. MDF wood as well provides a lot smoother finish for the both side of doll house and also give better finish of paint. It will also not fall apart as plywood does.
You can also make grooves in MDF to fit electric lights into your doll house. This is something you can't do with plywood houses as the wood in much thinner and will fall apart if you try to cut grooves in it.

Front or Back Opening

Dolls houses can be made with front entrance or rear entrance. this means that the front portion or the rear portion of the doll house will open to exhibit the rooms. On the other side ,While  you  display your doll house then the best type of house is a front opening  house as it can be positioned alongside a wall with the front side fully observable and can be opened to view  inside.
